Mehandipur Balaji Temple

Mehandipur Balaji Mandir (Hindi/Rajastani: मेहंदीपुर बालाजी मंदिर) is a mandir in the Indian state of Rajasthan dedicated to the Hindu God Hanuman. The name Balaji is applied to Sri Hanuman in several parts of India because the childhood (Bala in Hindi or Sanskrit) form of the Lord is especially celebrated there. Unlike similar religious sites it is located in a town rather than the countryside. Its reputation for ritualistic healing and exorcism of evil spirits attracts many pilgrims from Rajasthan and elsewhere.

Neelkanth and Panch Mahadev Description
Neelkanth Mahadev Temple is one of the most revered holy shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva. Neelkanth, one of the ancient temples of the destination, is dedicated to Mahadev or Lord Shiva. Popularly known as Panch Mahadev, this temple is situated in the region of Aravali hills at Dausa. A large stone Lingam in the temple, whose top is visible above the ground can be discovered. The temple can be reached by using a ropeway.

As per mythology, the place where the Neelkanth Mahadev Temple currently stands is the sacred location where Lord Shiva consumed the poison Halahala that originated from the sea when Devas (Gods) and Asuras (Demons) churned the sea in order to obtain Amrita. The poison emitted during the Samudramanthan that made his throat blue in color. Lord Shiva hence is also known as Nilkanth.

Lord Shiva is the main deity in this temple. There are five Shaivate temples located at Dausa however Nilkanth Panch Mahadeva temple is the most popular. The Rope way is another attraction at this place. Maha Shivaratri is the most prominent festival celebrated here. The temple observes a fair that is held on the occasions of Maha Shivratri during which the devotees from all the parts of country visit to Neelkanth Mahadev Temple.
